Ethos

We often use the word ‘ethos’ to describe the character of Oasis Community Learning and our Academies.

Central to the ethos of Oasis Academy Lord's Hill is the idea of a rich and balanced educational environment - academically, vocationally, socially, morally, spiritually, physically, emotionally and environmentally.

Our goal

Our goal is to raise aspirations, unlock students' potential and work towards achieving excellence through encouraging a 'can do' culture which nurtures confident and competent people. The Academy aims to develop informed and active learners with a strong sense of self-confidence who can explore questions, seek solutions, solve problems and are not afraid to fail initially, because from failure springs learning and success.

Oasis believes that this can be achieved through high-quality facilities, outstanding staff, clear leadership, a positive, affirming environment and a partnership between students, parents and the Academy. Parents/Carers will be positively engaged in supporting each child.

Ethos and Values

Our ethos is an expression of our character - it is a statement of who we are and therefore the lens through which we assess all we do. The work of the Academy is motivated and inspired by the life, message and example of Christ, which shapes and guides every aspect of each of our Academies.

This is encapsulated by the following five statements:

1.a passion to include everyone
2.a desire to treat everyone equally, respecting differences
3.a commitment to healthy and open relationships
4.a deep sense of purpose that things can change and be transformed
5.a sense of perseverance to keep going for the long haul

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
