Principal's Message

Welcome to Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill. I was delighted to be appointed Principal in November 2007 and it has been a pleasure working on the development of the Academy since then.

Prior to joining Oasis Community Learning I was the Deputy Headteacher of a Secondary School in London and before that worked in a diverse range of schools in South London. In recent years I have served schools in urban areas and have found that children in these circumstances have huge vitality and energy.

Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill is located on two sites; the lower school is based at the Green Lane site, and the upper school is run from the Fairisle Road site. Whilst creating an organisational challenge for us, the use of two sites offers the students greater access to specialist facilities and the space in which to flourish. Although independent, Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill will seek to work closely with the Local Authority, local schools, Further Education providers and other organisations for the good of all within the community.

The young people who join the Academy will have access to excellent facilities, exciting opportunities and first-class support. They will be stretched and challenged in their learning, encouraged in their aspirations and guided in their personal development.

All students will be treated as individuals; there will be no ‘one size fits all’ approach. Personalised learning is our aim, giving students the education they need and want, and engaging them in their curriculum. Learning will be active, hands on and fun.

Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill is a school for the community and a school for the 21st Century, preparing our young people for their future. We will be guided as we grow by our mission – Loving Life - Loving Learning – our values and our vision. We look forward to you joining us on this exciting journey.

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
