Year 10 Vehicle Maintenance BTEC students enjoyed a trip to RAF Hendon to learn about the evolution of aircrafts and their engines.
On Monday 11th April, Academy students from the School Council, met with peers across the country as they attended the Global Summit to Stop The Traffik at Oasis Academy Enfield.
Year 7 students visited Corfe Castle in Dorset to support the work they have been doing on the Norman Conquest.

On Wednesday 4th May, a coach left Southampton for Birmingham. On it were a party from Lord’s Hill and from our sister academy, Oasis Mayfield. We were off to the second National Oasis Awards Ceremony at the ICC in the heart of Birmingham.

Students from years 11 and 10 spent a residential weekend at Calshot Activity Centre supported by Academy staff, achieving things they simply didn't believe they could do. They skied, climbed, hung precariously (but safely) from ropes and enjoyed a whole range of other team activities

The Oasis 'Down to Earth' Farm on the Green Lane site is currently developing a new initiative to offer adults with learning disabilities the opportunity to gain new life skills and participate in a real work programme
During the week of 14th-18th March students and staff at the Academy took the time to learn more about the work of Oasis in Beira, Mozambiqu, and undertook a number of fund raising activities to support the Oasis team there.

The Oasis Youth Theatre's production of One Million to - STOP THE TRAFFIK was again making headlines last Friday evening when it received the Youth Ensemble Award at the Daily Echo's prestigious amateur theatre Curtain Call Awards 2010
Students at the Academy have been working with Educational Psychology students from the University of Southamapton investigating the links between the consumption of energy drinks and factors affecting the education of young people.
During the week commencing 24th January students throughout the Academy will learn and reflex on the Holocaust and Genocide. Assemblies and student team-time will focus on understanding these events and remembering the victims and those whose lives have been changed beyond recognition as a result
The Academy has been delighted to host another model boat building and boat racing competition amongst local Junior Schools this winter. Model boat kits were supplied to a number of Junior Schools. Completed boats were then raced across the Oaklands Swimming Pool and trophies awarded for speed and best design.
Our student Year 11 BTEC Hospitality Group enjoyed the opportunity of lunching at the new City College training restaurant 'Aspire' on Thursday 13th January.
On December 21st Southampton City Council’s planning panel decided unanimously to give the green light for the new build of Oasis Academy Lord's Hill. The new building will be located next to The Cedar School on Lordshill Recreation Ground.

Students at the Academy turned 'spotty' on Friday 19th November to raise money for Children in Need. Over £500 was gathered in support of the nation's fund raising efforts.
There could be a number of reasons why the Academy may close early or not open at all for staff and students. The most common reason would be because of bad weather. Snow: If there is a significant snowfall overnight our staff will assess the local situation and by 7am will make a decision whether the Academy will be closed for the day. Eight Academy students who are studying vehicle maintenance at the Academy spent the day at Bovington Tank Museum studying some really finely engineered machinery.
18th-22nd October is Alcohol Awareness Week. The Academy is working with other organisations during this week to offer information and support to young people and families locally.
Year 10 Students were honoured to perform at the Young people's World Mental Health Day 2010 event in Southampton on Friday October 8th.

Football - Year 10 boys played away to Ballard School in the Hampshire Cup on Monday 4th October. Despite goals by Dempsey Foreman, Jordan Cook and Craig Johnson, the boys were just beaten 4-3. They played well though and it was a close competitive game, well done.
The Academy were delighted when a group of Gas Board managers volunteered to spend the day helping out at the 'Down to Earth' Farm. They painted, made a new rabbit run and spread manure.

More exciting than the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race, it is official ‘Go Go Bot’ is the fastest boat in the Lordshill School Cluster.
Fairisle Juniors beat Oakwood to the title by just 4 runs. The afternoon of 22nd June saw Oakwood juniors, Shirley Warren Primary and Fairisle Juniors battling it out in the Lordshill School Cluster Cricket Tournament arranged and organised by Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill.
June 14 – 18 sees the Academy hosting students and staff from Cyprus, Romania, Estonia, Spain, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Hungary and Lithuania.
Oasis Youth Theatre became the English Champions when they won the All-England Theatre Festival on Saturday 5th June with their performance of One Million to STOP THE TRAFFIK. They will now represent England in the All-British Final in Scotland on June 25th.
