Well done to Academy students for raising another £800 to support the efforts of their global partner Oasis Mozambique in providing water taps to village suburbs in Beira Mozambique.

On the 22nd March the Academy was delighted to welcome Aaron Phipps, GB wheelchair rugby player and Paralympic hopeful who came to speak to year 7 & 8 students in their PE lessons.
The evening of Saturday 31st March saw Oasis Youth Theatre win the Totton Drama Festival in the First Round of the All England Theatre Festival (Western Division) with their new production ‘JACK’.
The next Parent's Forum is 5 - 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday March 13th at the Academy. All parents/carers are invited to join us to discuss various aspects of Academy Life.

Students from the Academy took the opportunity to visit Oxford University on Friday 3rd February. They learned about University life, toured St. Edmund Hall follwed up by a visit to the Natural History Museum
Students at the Academy are getting the opportunity to learn about University Gaming Courses when two BA (Hons) university students come to share details of what the course entails.
Members of the Oasis Youth Theatre Juniors Group enjoyed an afternoon outing to the Nuffield Theatre to see 'The Borrowers'. The lively performance encouraged the 'booing and cheering' of a traditional pantomime and much fun was had by all.
Staff at the farm said a big thank you to the wonderful farm volunteer work force by throwing them a Christmas Party. The farm would not be able to stay open without the commitment and dedication of this fabulous team.
During the week of 5th December, all students will be involved in learning about the benefits and risks of Internet use, and most importantly how to stay safe.
There will also be an open session on Monday 12th December for parents and carers.

As part of the Academy 'Healthy Schools Initiative' we would like to encourage everyone to learn about the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast and we suggest 'berries' as a versatile and tasty option.
At the end of September, 11 of our year 11 Sports Leaders were asked to help Eastleigh based charity Open Sight at an exhibition they were running at The Rose Bowl. This was no ordinary exhibition.

The Oasis Youth Theatre’s very own Charlie Wheeller performed with seven other BBC ‘So you think you can dance’ finalists, in a show they had developed themselves, at the Swan Theatre in Worcester on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th September.

Students at the Academy who make a real effort in their ICT work this coming year may receive a Special Achievement Award for Effort and Commitment in ICT thanks to Chris Devrell, Director of Hampshire firm CDEV Computing Ltd.
Staff from the Academy were delighted to meet students on site to hand out exam results. Many students had achieved more than they ever thought they were capable of and spirits were generally high. There will no doubt be numerous well deserved celebrations. Overall, Academy results were up again this year with Oasis Academy Lord's Hill again demonstrating that it is one of the fastest improving schools in the City.
Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill are delighted to announce that their GCSE results have substantially improved for the second year in a row. The percentage of students passing 5+A*-C’s including English and Maths at GCSE level is 44% rising from a starting point of 26% in 2009 and 40% last year. The percentage of students passing 5+A*-C’s in all other areas is 75% once again an increase on starting figures of 51% in 2009 and last year’s figure of 64%.
