| June 14 – 18 sees the Academy hosting students and staff from Cyprus, Romania, Estonia, Spain, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Hungary and Lithuania. At the end of last year the Academy successfully bid to be a partner school in the 2010 and 2011 European Comenius project ‘Intercultural Dialogue as a Means to Develop Creativity and Innovation. During the two year project Academy students and staff will have the opportunity to visit the other ten partner countries and the visit June 14 – 18 is our host visit when they all come to us. Students from the Academy have already visited Cyprus, Romania and Estonia. During the visits the participants attended workshops to learn about the host country and shared some curriculum work they do in school in preparation for the visit. Whilst visiting England and the Academy, the representatives from the ten partner countries will enjoy a varied programme of events. They will be introduced to the facilities the Academy has to offer, there will be a chance for them to walk the old Southampton city walls, they will have a day in Portsmouth at the Historical Dockyard, and will be guests of honour at an English Garden Party with cream tea and cricket. |
