| More exciting than the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race, it is official ‘Go Go Bot’ is the fastest boat in the Lordshill School Cluster. Three schools, Fairisle Road, Shirley Warren Primary and Sinclair Primary entered a number of teams each in the Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill’s Boat Building Competition. Each team was given a boat design kit and were supported by Academy DT Teacher Andrew Webb to produce a model boat. These boats were then raced on the Oaklands Swimming Pool on Monday 21st June. Boats went every which way on their quest to become the fastest boat across the pool, accompanied by much cheering and shouts of support. The fastest boat was Go Go Bot from Sinclair Primary School. The winning team and the two runners up have all been offered the opportunity for a ride on a rescue boat with the Venturers Search and Rescue Youth Organisation based at Lepe Beach. |
