They did us proud

Described as ‘ polite, appreciative and obviously there to enjoy the whole experience,  a credit to your school and themselves.’  The Oasis Youth Theatre, did us all proud when they competed in the All-British Theatre Festival Final in Scotland.

As winners of the All-England Theatre Festival Final, OYT travelled to East Kilbride, Scotland on 24th June to compete in the All-British Final. With a large cast and bulky stage set it was quite a costly and complicated operation to get them all to the Village Theatre, East Kilbride to take part.

Luckily with the help of a number of supportive and generous sponsors, including the free loan of a van for the set from Ron Gilby at South Coast Maintenance, the journey was accomplished.

On this occasion this inspiring young theatre group, , did not walk away with First Prize despite another excellent performance of Director Mark Wheeller’s play – One Million to Stop The Traffik. They did  however steal the hearts of the audience, the other competitors and the organising committee.

A letter of thanks from the Scottish Theatre Festival Committee states ‘ we loved the way they threw themselves into the Scottish dancing on the Friday night, made such an effort to dress smartly for the civic reception and displayed their exceptional dancing skills on Saturday. It was also really nice to see them include the cast members from Wales and Scotland and their applauding of the winning Irish team was truly touching’

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
