Running alongside the exhibition for those who have a visual impairment or are blind, was a series of ‘Blind Sport Taster’ sessions for Primary Schools.
In two sessions, 270 children were able to take part in Blind Football, Cricket, Judo, Volleyball and even Archery. Our students were utilised as team leaders and organisers for the various sports, but did get to try their hand also at some point.
Open Sight want to say a huge thank you to the students, who were punctual, polite, enthusiastic and superbly presented. Under the direction of Anne Livesey and Luke Newman, and in partnership with Open Sight, the Academy plan to run some ‘Blind Sport Tasters’ for our local Primary Schools soon.
The Students also had the opportunity to meet some ‘Blind Sport’ participants both past and present.
