As part of our campaign we have produced a PowerPoint presentation entitled:
Reap the Benefit of a Healthy Breakfast.
This presentation informs you of the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast, what a healthy breakfast might be made up of, and how you might include berries.
In summary the presentation suggests that a healthy breakfast is good because:
1) It boosts metabolism
2) It Increases Energy
3) It Lowers cholesterol levels
4) It Improves concentration
5) It Aids weight loss
6) It keeps blood sugar levels stable.
It has been suggested that young people who eat a balanced meal for breakfast show signs of :
•improved behaviour
•improved attendance
•increased concentration, therefore potentially achievement
•improved punctuality
•improved social skills and confidence to interact with children and adults alike
•increased understanding of the importance of a healthy eating regime and energy balance
A healthy breakfast can be made up of many things:

As part of our campaign we showed our presentation to all the students and the staff at the Academy on Monday 10th October. We invited them all to join us for a 'Berry Breakfast' in the Academy Dining Hall on the morning of 11th October. We also put posters up around the Academy advertising our 'Berries for Breakfast' event and displayed the presentation in the Academy community areas.

On the morning of October 11th we held four 'Berries for Breakfast' Events. We made a display about eating a healthy breakfast and berries being a healthy option, explaining the healthy benefits of berries such as:
and then we offered people a selection of fresh berries and berry products for their breakfast.
We had fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, berry yoghurts, berry muffins and we made berry smoothies.

Lots of the students had never tasted fresh berries and most really enjoyed trying them. Only one said "yuk".
Our first event was in the Academy dining room for Academy students and staff
We then visited the Oasis Preschool for breakfast. We put up our display and also handed out leaflets to the parents.
A community group at the Oasis Hub Centre then had a berry breakfast with us, looked at our display and took away copies of the leaflet.
Lastly we visited the Oasis Community Farm and had another berry breakfast with some Academy students there, some community volunteers, and the farm staff.
To see a copy of the leaflet we gave out please click here.
We have now turned our mobile campaign display into a number of static displays around the Academy and Community Hub Centre and will leave them up for a number of weeks.
We took lots of photos of all the events and these have been made into a film to support and advertise our campaign. To see the film please click here.

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
