'Down to Earth' Farm

 
The Down to Earth Farm is part of Oasis Academy Lordshill's Community Hub and is situated on the Green Lane Academy site. The Bluestar number 4 bus service runs right past the farm.
At the Down to Earth Farm we are striving to support social enterprise where people from a wide range of backgrounds can undertake meaningful work in a safe environment, which nurtures a sense of self esteem.

We provide voluntary opportunities for children and adults on our community farm in animal care, maintenance, horticultural & conservation work. We also offer education for schools in animal care and gardening, and host children's activities during most school holidays.

Our aim is to give anyone who wishes to be involved in these types of activities the chance to do so, developing self confidence and self esteem through achievement.

We have a wide and varied group of people who come to Down to Earth, including those with learning disabilities, autism, mental health issues and young people in and outside of mainstream education etc.

Our service is open to people of all ages and all abilities in Southampton and beyond
and we have disabled access to most areas and a disabled toilet. Local special schools with wheelchair bound children regulary use our Centre.
Some activities at the Farm we need to charge for, some are free. We are always grateful for donations.

We also have facilities that you can hire such as a large meeting room / function room.
