Attendance and Punctuality

The link between academic achievement and attendance is clear, show me a student who attends well and you can almost guarantee that they will reach their potential. The opposite of this is also true; students who have below average attendance more often than not fail to make the most of their abilities. The Academy takes attendance very seriously; it is unlikely that we will ever approve requests for holidays during term time. Unexplained absences will be quickly followed up by a text message or a phone call home. All students are expected to arrive at the Academy on time; unexplained  lateness will be dealt with through a detention on that day.

If a student is unable to attend the academy, it is the responsibility of the parent(s) and carer(s) to telephone 023 8074 3383 or 023 8039 3660 before 8.30am giving a reason for the absence. These numbers can be called at anytime as there is an answer machine service on both numbers.
