Over the past term, students in Year 7-10 have been creating and collaborating on the production of Matilda. A vibrant and comical interpretation of the well-loved children’s story, the students have brought to life this performance with energy, enthusiasm and joy. We are extremely proud of their work ethic, creativity and talent.
Ex-drama teacher, Mark Wheeller said; "It was lovely to see so many students involved and really enjoying themselves, demonstrating the importance of Arts in schools."
Year 10 student, Abbie said; "I really enjoy performing and it is something I am strongly considering studying at college"
The performance of Matilda was ‘sandwiched’ in between the wonderful Glee Club (who rehearse weekly with Mr Souter and Showcase Music School) singing their hearts out, followed by our superb talented soloists: Cerys, Rachel, Jennifer, accompanied by Fred on the drums and Angelos on the guitar. Finally a wonderful festive send off by EDC; our talented dance company led by Mrs Morley.
The talents and skills of our students were shared with the Lord Mayor of Southampton, who commented on what a lovely night it was.
