Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill, is proud to announce the official opening of its brand-new fitness suite, which opened to students and the wider community on Monday 1st June. This exciting development marks a significant investment in health, wellbeing, and community engagement at the academy.
The new gym provides a modern training environment and will play a key role in enhancing the academy’s Physical Education curriculum, giving students access to high-quality fitness equipment and facilities to support their development.
In addition to serving students during the school day, the gym will also be open to new and existing community members during evenings and weekends, further strengthening the academy’s commitment to supporting the wider community.
This project represents the first major upgrade to the academy’s fitness facilities since the opening of its state-of-the-art school building in 2012. The refurbishment has been part-funded by Sport England, with equipment supplied by Matrix Fitness, part of the JHT Group, and featuring the widely respected Vision Fitness brand.
The upgraded facility includes:
- Over 20 pieces of state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment
- A dedicated free weights area with specialist flooring
- A modern layout designed to support a wide range of training needs
Speaking about the new facility, Physical Education Curriculum Leader Jon Cook said:
“It is fantastic that we are being provided with a state-of-the-art fitness suite facility for our students and members of our local community. This new facility will be used widely within our Physical Education curriculum lessons in Years 7-11, as well as in our BTEC Sport lessons and as part of our extra-curricular sessions. The new equipment will provide our students with access to fitness opportunities that will enhance their learning experience at our Academy.”
