Oasis has partnered with Wetwheels Solent to provide a unique powerboat experience, which is fully inclusive. Inspired by Geoff Holt MBE, Wetwheels is a world leader in water-based activities for people of all abilities. Paralysed himself in a swimming accident, Geoff has pioneered the build of the 9m Catamaran with easy access for those in wheelchairs.
On Tuesday 2nd July, our students set off from Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth and arrived in Cowes on the Isle of Wight for a picnic lunch. Each student had the opportunity to take the helm themselves and skipper the boat for part of the journey. Able to travel at 40 knots, the ride was exhilarating.
Director of Ethos Paul Woodman said, "This was a very special trip. We are very grateful to Geoff and the team at Wetwheels for making this exceptional opportunity available to our students."
